This site includes pages devoted to Amateur (HAM) Radio, the Fort Myers Amateur Radio Club and A.L.E.R.T. (Lee County's Emergency Communications group), and helping Ham Radio grow. I have also added some information about the Shooting Sports.kc4goa in the hope that it will help both of these hobbies grow.
I am an active member of A.L.E.R.T., the "All Lee County Emergency Response Team," which uses licensed Ham Radio operators to assist with Lee County Civil Defense. This is the one of the main reasons that Amateur Radio exists, to assist the public in times of emergency. Helping at parades and other events is another calling for those of us who love the Ham Radio hobby. Finally, talking around the world with other licensed amateurs serves two purposes: extending good will and practice for our real calling, emergency service. Please help us by opposing antenna restrictions.
I am an Endowment member of the NRA and an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor for Rifle, Pistol, and Shotgun (modern and black powder). My primary concern is the safe handling and ownership of firearms. In addition to helping teach NRA courses I serve as a Merit Badge Counselor for the Boy Scouts.
